Slotting is the process of removal of chipping, ideal to obtain grooves, slots for keys or internal toothing. Mecal srl is involved in slotting by through-holes and blind holes with next generation CNC machinery.
How slotting works
A slotting tool operates with rectilinear motion- vertical or inclined- removing material at consecutive steps until it reaches the desired depth or shape. This method ensures high precision even in blind holes, in which the tool stops based on given measurements.
